How to make a crossover cable

Nikhil Dev | November 22, 2006 | 8:54 am

For all you people who dont know what a crossover cable is, it is just a simple network cable that can be altered to directly connect 2 computers rather than using a switch or a hub. Everybody knows most of the details of crimping but the biggest deal with have a crossover cable is the order of the wires. So I searched a little and managed to find something that was meaningful enough.

This first image shows a normal cable. You just need to interchange the first with the third and the second with sixth. That is all what is needed. After the crossing over is done, this is what it should look like once done.

Now this cable can be used to transfer files or do some network gaming between two computers.
